We are in a war every moment of every day as the Father of Lies is relentless in battle and will never cease.

Paul warned the church in 2 Corinthians 11:3 that just as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, our thoughts will also be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ. The enemy’s job is to steal, kill and destroy, and he is really good at it. He is subtle, and it is easy to get caught up in the deception of the enemy.

Our loving Father, knowing that we would struggle, sacrificed His son so that we could live free. The greatest weapon that God gave us is His Word. And we know from the Bible that the Word is Jesus Christ and that Jesus is the truth that makes us free.

In John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Jesus is truth.

The next time you wake up with lofty thoughts running through your mind, ask yourself do the thoughts line up with what God’s word says? If not throw that thought or deception in the trash because the enemy can only get a foothold in our lives when we give him permission to by coming into agreement with his lies.

The simple truth is this: You were made in God’s image. There is nothing about you should bring you shame or condemnation. You are who God says you are – the apple of His eye. You were fearfully and wonderfully made – a masterpiece He formed and fashioned with a unique plan and purpose. Open yourself to the truth and see what can and will happen in your life.
